Beth Carew Memorial Scholarship Program

Must be an individual diagnosed with hemophilia, von Willebrand disease or other inherited bleeding disorder and either entering or attending an accredited 2- or 4-year undergraduate institution in the U.S.  High school seniors, undergrad freshmen, sophomores and juniors may also apply.  Students who are pursuing or resuming an undergrad degree later in adulthood may apply if there was a gap in their academic career.  Applicants will also need to show volunteer time spent directly benefiting the bleeding disorders community. 

 

Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center, Inc. Scholarship Fund

  • Amount: $2,000

  • Deadline: 04/06/2018

  • Eligibility: Child, Has Bleeding Disorder, Sibling

High school seniors, graduates, or students in good standing who are already enrolled in a post-secondary program, and planning to enroll in a course of study at an accredited 2 or 4 year college, university, or vocational technical school program or certified training program, with priority given to undergraduate study. A person affected directly or indirectly by Hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, hereditary bleeding disorder of Hemochromatosis.

Bob Hersh Memorial Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000

  • Deadline: 04/06/2018

  • Eligibility: Child, Has Bleeding Disorder, Sibling

High school upperclassmen or graduates or students in good standing who are already enrolled in a post-secondary program, and planning to enroll in a course of study at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university, or vocational technical school program or certified training program, with priority given to undergraduate study AND affected directly or indirectly by hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, hereditary bleeding disorder or Hemochromatosis.

Diplomat/Hemophilia of North Carolina Educational Scholarships

  • Amount: $3,000 

  • Deadline: 05/01/2018

  • Eligibility: Child, Has Bleeding Disorder, Parent, Sibling

For caregivers of children affected with bleeding disorders, a person who has been diagnosed with hemophilia, or their sibling. Preference given to a hemophilia community member, parent and family members seeking healthcare related education from an accredited college or university or certified training program.

 

Pfizer: The Soozie Courter Hemophilia Scholarship Program

  • Amount: $4,000 (5 graduate scholarships) and $2,500 (ten college scholarships)

  • Deadline: 05/04/18

  • Eligibility: Has hemophilia or is a carrier

Students must have either hemophilia A or hemophilia B, or be a carrier, and be a high school senior, have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) credential, or be currently enrolled in an accredited junior college, college (as an undergraduate or graduate student), or vocational school.


HFA Parent/Sibling/Child Educational Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,000

  • Deadline: 05/15/2018

  • Eligibility: Must be a parent/sibling/child of a person with a bleeding disorder. May or may not have a bleeding disorder themselves. Seeking a post-secondary education from a college, university or trade school

One (1) scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,000.00 to the immediate family member of a person with a bleeding disorder

HFA Educational Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,000

  • Deadline: 05/15/2018

  • Eligibility: Has Bleeding Disorder and is seeking a post-secondary education from a college, university or trade school

Two (2) educational scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000.00 each to students with a bleeding disorder.

HFA Medical/Healthcare Services Educational Scholarship

  • Amount: $4,000

  • Deadline: 05/15/2018

  • Eligibility: A person with a bleeding disorder or related to someone with a bleeding disorder. Must be pursuing a degree in the medical/healthcare services field

One (1) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $4,000.00 to a student pursuing a degree in the medical/healthcare services field. We have noticed over the years that many of our students in the bleeding disorders community are studying for a career in the medial field. Because we know how costly this can be, we created this scholarship specifically for those students to help further their goals.


The Nate Slack Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000

  • Eligibility: Child, Has Bleeding Disorder, Parent, Sibling

The Nate Slack Scholarship award, presented by HF healthcare, wants to honor memory and a giving spirit of Nate Slack by providing two (2) $1,000 educational scholarships. The scholarships are made available to people with hemophilia (or a related bleeding disorder) or to a person within the immediate family who is attending (or has been accepted to) an accredited Junior College, University, College or Trade School.

Eric Delson Memorial Scholarship Program

  • Amount: $2,500

Students clinically diagnosed with hemophilia or von Willebrand disease. Renewable up to four years, for college or trade school. One award for student attending private school in grades 7-12.

Joshua Gomes Memorial Scholarship

Matrix Health - Joe Holibaugh Memorial Scholarship

Joe met many challenges. He faced these difficulties as opportunities to grow, embracing life fully with his entire being. The candidate must be a United States resident. The candidate must have applied and been accepted to an accredited college, university or technical school in the United States on a full-time basis (12 credit hours or more) and must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale during entire senior year of high school or current year of college or graduate school. Matrix Health - Tim Kennedy Memorial Scholarship

Tim was devoted to helping his peers look past their health conditions and enjoy every moment of life for all that it’s worth. The candidate must be a United States resident. The candidate must have applied and been accepted to an accredited college, university or technical school in the United States on a full-time basis (12 credit hours or more) and must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale during entire senior year of high school or current year of college or graduate school. Employees and family members affiliated with Matrix Health Group are not eligible to apply.

Millie Gonzalez Memorial Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,500 (2 scholarships)

  • Eligibility: Woman with hemophilia and/or von Willebrands

Millie was a devoted wife and mother as well as a pioneer dedicated to advocacy, promoting the awareness of the unique struggles faced by women with bleeding disorders and those tasked with caring for an individual affected by a bleeding disorder. The candidate must be a United States resident. The candidate must have applied and been accepted to an accredited college, university or technical school in the United States on a full-time basis (12 credit hours or more) and must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale during entire senior year of high school or current year of college or graduate school. Factor Support Network-Mike Hylton Memorial Scholarships

Mike met the challenges he faced with class and a concern for others not only in the bleeding disorder community, but also those affected with HIV.​The candidate must be a United States resident. Ron exemplified the meaning of compassion towards others, action in his words and deeds, and practiced more than preached what it meant to be an advocate locally and nationally. The candidate must be a United States resident. Homecare For The Cure - Mark Coats Memorial Scholarship

We look to Mark as a reminder of what living with a bleeding disorder was like not that long ago, how blessed we are to have the treatments we have today and just how important it is that we continue our quest to find a cure for hemophilia. ​The candidate must be a United States resident.
