Karla came to the BDANENY in April 2019, continuing a career spent in non-profit and public agency executive management. She has experience in overseeing the operations of complex human services organizations including staff and volunteer recruitment and management. She has successfully helped human services agencies identify, track and assess the impact of their services and engage community stakeholders, partners and public officials to support the critical work undertaken by community-based organizations. She is skilled at negotiating the delicate balance needed to engage these critical allies in the work of the agency they serve.
Karla notes that her experiences in the non-profit world and at the highest levels of New York State government taught her the importance of identifying and responding to the challenges faced in providing services in an environment of rapid, sometimes seemingly constant, internal and external change. She is an articulate writer and public speaker and passionate advocate who has dedicated her professional life to serving people in need and to mobilizing the public and public officials to support the policies and programs needed to serve the community and promote broad community-level change. Karla is a great asset to the bleeding disorders community and is excited to serve our chapter.
